   THU., JUNE 7-AUGUST 30. SUMMER VOLLEYBALL. Status: Open. Join the  
Worcester Chapter members for co-ed recreational adult volleyball.  
Drop in every Thursday night from 6-9 on an outside sand court in  
Southboro during June, July, August. New and prospective members  
welcome. Open to all levels. Must register in advance weekly with

   WED-THU., JUNE 20-AUGUST 30. AMC FAMILY ADVENTURE CLUB. Status:  
Open. Calling all families to join the fun this summer on weekly  
mid-week outings in the Worcester County area. Connect with other  
families for inexpensive trips that will leave "no child left inside".  
Hiking, bicycle riding, swimming, and museums. Visit parks, bike  
paths, lakes, beaches, farms, and attractions such as the Ecotarium,  
Tower Hill Gardens, and Davis Farmland. It's always more fun with a

Open. Meet in Boylston Center in back of Country Store on Rt.70 No

   WED., AUGUST 8. MIDSTATE TRAIL & WAPACK SERIES #10. Status:/  
Canceled./ Meet at 10 a.m. in parking lot at former Temple Mountain  
Ski Area on Route 101 east of Peterboro in New Hampshire. Bring lunch  
and a couple dollars for Miller State Park fee! Leave some cars and  
shuttle to terminus of Wapack Trail on Old Mountain Road in  
Greenfield, N.H. Hike south over Pack Monadnock and other peaks with  
sweeping views in all directions. Total about 5.5 miles. No

   THU., AUGUST 9. PAUL'S TGI FRIDAY'S BIKE RIDE. Biking. 6pm start.  
Status: Open. 20.6 miles with a few hills through Millbury, Sutton and  
Oxford. Meet at TGI Fridays in the Shoppes of Blackstone Valley Mall  
off Rt 146 in Millbury. Be ready for a 6PM start sharp. No

   SAT., AUGUST 11. OLDIES CONCERT - BEACH BOYS AUGUST 11. Status:  
Open. Oldies 103.3 is sponsoring a free concert with the Beach Boys.  
We can either meet at the Alewife Station in Cambridge (directions  
provided), or meet at the Park N Ride Lot off exit 10A of the  
MassPike, and carpool to the T. At any rate, let's plan to be on the

   SAT-SUN., AUGUST 11-12., CAMEL'S HUMP AND MT. MANSFIELD. Status:  
Open. (Intro) New to hiking 4000 footers? These hikes are for you.  
Hike a 4,083 footer in Vermont whose summit is shaped like a you know  
what. Camel's Hump, an 8-mile hike, is the highest undeveloped  
mountain in Vermont, with no structures at the summit. Dinner  
afterwards. Optional 6.5 rt hike the next day up Mt Mansfield. Do both  
hikes or just one. Easy pace. Limited to 10 fit, not necessarily fast,

   SAT., AUGUST 11. MIDSTATE TRAIL SERIES #6. Status: Open. Meet 9  
a.m. at end of Rocky Hill Road off Route 12 across from police station  
in Oxford, just north of town center. Leave some cars here and drive  
to trail crossing on (south side of) Route 20 in Charlton. From here  
hike south through Hodges Village Dam area to Rocky Hill Road, 5

   SAT., AUGUST 11. WACHUSETT MOUNTAIN STATE RESERVATION. Status:  
Open. Meet at the Visitor Center. Join Dwayne Ericson, Facility  
Supervisor at Wachusett Mountain State Reservation, and other  
volunteers in providing maintenance to the Mountain trails. Projects  
may consist of paint blazing, vegetation control, or basic upkeep and  
repairs to damaged drainage structures. Some experience preferred but  
all help is openly welcomed. Tools supplied. Bring water bottle,  
packable snacks or lunch, work gloves, and wear sturdy footwear and

   SUN., AUGUST 12. #3 URBAN PARK CLEANUP SERIES. Status: Open.  
Adopt-A-City-Park Series Morning Fun/Work time in Worcester.  
Volunteers needed to help "clean up our own backyard." Tools and

Street the famous Italian section of Worcester. Entrees include  
Northern Italian fare including salads, pasta and seafood. Prices

Deerfield river trip, Join us to canoe or kayak relatively easy Class  
1, quickwater, and flatwater, section from Rt. 2 rest stop in  
Charlemont to 1st dam near Shelburne Falls, approximately 8 miles.  
Boats, pfd's, lunch/snacks required. Dinner option after paddling.

NOON at parking lot by church on Central Turnpike in West Sutton. Take  
Rte. 395 to Exit 4A, taking Sutton Ave. east (toward Sutton) for 3.2  
miles to church on right. From Rte. 146 take Central Turnpike toward  
Oxford 4.7 miles to church on left. Leave some cars and drive to end  
of Rocky Hill Road off Route12 across from police station in Oxford.  
Hike south 6.5 miles to West Sutton. No registration required. Leader:

designed for families and beginner hikers and cyclists. Join us at  
Hopkinton State Park for a picnic, walk, ride, or paddle, swim and

Open. Princeton Hilly Ride - Start at Princeton center, ride some  
lesser know roads with some interesting architecture to view. Serious  
hills. Optional loop over top of Mt Wachusett for masochists. No

   SAT., AUGUST 25. MT. MONROE AND MT. EISENHOWER. Status:/ Wait  
Listed./ Hike at an easy pace up the Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail to  
Crawford Path and down Edmands Path for 9 miles to go over Mt Monroe  
at 5,384 feet and nearby Mt Eisenhower at 4,780 feet. Limited to 10  
fit, not necessarily fast, hikers. Car pool from Worcester area at  
5:30am for early start. Optional dinner afterwards. Leader: Jack

   SAT., AUGUST 25. MIDSTATE TRAIL SERIES #8. Status: Open. Saturday,  
August 25: Meet 9 a.m. at Route 16 trail crossing in Douglas. Take  
Rte. 395 to exit 2. Go east on Rte. 16 for 4.3 miles to state trail  
parking lot on right. From Rte.146 and East Douglas, take Rte. 16  
west. Lot is on left, .9 miles past entrance to Wallum Lake/Douglas  
State Forest (Cedar St). Leave some cars there and shuttle to parking  
lot by church on Central Turnpike in West Sutton. Hike south to Route
