Thu., June 7-August 30. Summer Volleyball. Status: Open. Join the
Worcester Chapter members for co-ed recreational adult volleyball.
Drop in every Thursday night from 6-9 on an outside sand court in
Southboro during June, July, August. New and prospective members
welcome. Open to all levels. Must register in advance weekly with

June 20-August 30. AMC Family Adventure Club. Status: Open. Calling
all families to join the fun this summer on weekly mid-week outings in
the Worcester County area. Connect with other families for inexpensive
trips that will leave "no child left inside". Hiking, bicycle riding,
swimming, and museums. Visit parks, bike paths, lakes, beaches, farms,
and attractions such as the Ecotarium, Tower Hill Gardens, and Davis
Farmland. It's always more fun with a group! Recommended for ages 5+.

Thu., July 12. Marlboro/Berlin/Northboro 12th Annual Bike Ride.
Biking. 6pm start. Status: Open. Ride 14-16 miles through beautiful
hills and dales of Metrowest apple country. Meet at Hooligan's Bar &

Sat., July 14. Oldies Concert - Grassroots. Status: Open. Oldies 1033
is sponsoring a free concert on July 14 at the Hatch Shell in Boston,
featuring the Grassroots.("Temptation Eyes" "Sooner or Later") Let's
meet at the Riverside T station in Newton by 3 p.m.(Or, if preferred,
we can carpool to the T. Driving straight into Boston would probably

for a leisurely day trip paddling around Tully Lake.The reservoir area
is rich with natural beauty. Then we will stay for a shared picnic.

Sun., July 15. Nature Photography Park Series. Status: Open. July
Photography walk. Escape the July heat with a hike up Mt Watatic in
Ashburnham MA. Bring a picnic lunch, plenty of water, sturdy hiking
boots, hiking poles, bugspray, picnic lunch and a sweater. Windswept
summit, at 1832 ft. elevation, can be cool in any season. Since this
is a photo hike, rain or heavy cloudiness cancels. The trailhead and
parking are located on Rt. 119 in Ashburnham, MA, just 4.9 miles west

Sun., July 15. Wachusett Mountain Workday. Status: Open. Meet at the
Visitor Center. Join Dwayne Ericson, Facility Supervisor at Wachusett
Mountain State Reservation, and other volunteers in providing
maintenance to the Mountain trails. Projects may consist of paint
blazing, vegetation control, or basic upkeep and repairs to damaged
drainage structures. Some experience preferred but all help is openly
welcomed. Tools supplied. Bring water bottle, packable snacks or
lunch, work gloves, and wear sturdy footwear and clothing appropriate

Worcester Chapter for a fun filled evening especially designed for
families and beginner hikers and cyclists. Join us at Hopkinton State

through Hudson, Bolton and Marlboro. Ride explores backroads of the

South Hancock. Steep sections with scrambles. Many stream crossings.
This hikes has spectacular views. Experienced hikers on this 6 plus

Sat., July 21. Canoe and Kayak the Quinebaug. Status: Open. We will
meet at the boat launch site 200 yards off Route 20 4 km (2.4 miles)
west of the Route 131 / Rt. 20 intersection in Fiskdale on the north
side of the road. Bring your canoe or kayak, paddle, pfd, lunch,
water, etc for a day on the water. We will shuttle boats to Lake Siog
in Holland and paddle downstream the flat 5.5 miles to East Brimfield
Reservoir, then after lunch tour the coastline of Long Pond. Leader:

Sun., July 22. Midstate Trail series #4. Status: Open. Meet 1 p.m. in
Spencer where trail crosses G.H. Wilson Road. From Rte. 20, take Rte.
31 north 5.4 miles. Take right on Capon Rd .4 miles to end. Park at
that corner; which is .1 mile north of GH Wilson Rd and trail
crossing. From Rte. 9, take Rte. 31 south. Turn left on East Charlton
Rd. to GH Wilson Rd. Leave some cars here and shuttle to Route 9 at
Spencer Country Inn. Walk south by Audubon land and horse farms, 5.3
miles, back to G.H. Wilson Road. No registration required. Leader:

Sun., July 29. Very Beginner Hikes. Status: Open. Fourth in a series
of monthly very beginner hikes, meet at Mt Wachusett visitor
information at 10:00. Princeton, MA. Wachusett is the highest mountain
in Massachusetts east of the Connecticut River and stands some 2,006
feet above sea level at its peak. Our panoramic summit views include
sights of Boston to the east. We will take a very easy trail to the
top, stop often as needed, and have lunch at picnic table at the top
of Mt Wachusett. Bring/wear hiking boots or high top sneakers, water
