[Appies] AMC Worcester Chapter e-news 1/3/08 - Happy New Year and Winter Fun

Hi All,
  As this is the first e-news of 2008 I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year.
   
  We have lots of snow and plenty of opportunities for all to get out and play!   
   
  A sampling of what we have to offer this winter:
   
  Saturday Jan 12th we will be offering a Intro to Winter Hiking Class at Treasure Valley Boy Scout Camp in Rutland, MA.  This is in conjunction with an event called Winter Trails Day.
  Winter Trails Day will run from 9 am - 4pm, Jan 12, TVSR - 394 Pleasantdale Rd Rutland.  EMS and NE Backpacker will be there with gear demos, The Scouts will be offering different activities, and in addition to the Winter Hiking Class we will have a display and be running some 1/2 hour sessions.   Tuesday Night Downhill Skiing at Mt. Wachusett  (Jan 8-Apr 1)
   
  Sunday X-C Skiing around Wachusett Reservoir (most Sundays starting Jan 6)
   
  X-C Ski Trips exploring local trails and touring centers most weekends.
   
  Local Snowshoe hikes most weekends
   
  Weekend Ski Trips to VT and NH
   
  Winter Hiking in the White Mountains.
