  Greetings Appies,
  The Souteastern Mass Chapter is hosting the Spring Gathering April 18-20th in Sandwich Mass.  (see details below).  There will be a host of activities including , biking, hiking, paddling, clinics and entertainment.   You can come for the weekend or just for the day.  
   
  Meet people from other AMC Chapters!   The Spring and Fall Gathering rotate with each Chapter taking a turn to host.  Fall 2010 will be our turn.

SUBJECT: Please join us on Cape Cod for Spring Gathering 2008

Starting from the bare outline of a plan just several months ago, our Southeast Massachusetts Chapter’s Spring Gathering 2008 Committee has firmed up both the logistics and agenda for the AMC Spring Gathering 2008 on Cape Cod, April 18th-20th. Yup, the “heavy lifting” stage has passed and now we’re just dotting the I’s and crossing the T’s. As all of you who’ve had to put together a similar clubwide event in recent years fully understand, it’s an awfully good feeling.

We’ve reserved a beautiful Cape Cod location with excellent updated facilities: the South Shore YMCA Outdoor Education Center (“Camp Burgess”) in Sandwich, MA. The committee has also scheduled a full agenda of fun activities for the weekend. These include local hikes, bike rides, kayak paddles, on-site climbing wall, and a tour of historic Nobska Point Lighthouse and the world-famous Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, plus live local entertainment, a first-ever “AMC Jeopardy” game and a BYOB social.

Lodging choices range from onsite tent platforms and heated cabins (both with convenient indoor bath facilities), to nearby offsite motels. You can also choose from several different meal plans.

Considering that registration didn’t “go live” until just after the AMC Annual Meeting at the end of January, we’re doing well. However, we’d still like to encourage as many members as possible from across the club to register for the event. Even if you’re not personally obligated to attend any of the AMC business meetings scheduled to take place during the weekend, you can still attend this year’s Spring Gathering on beautiful Cape Cod just for the fun and camaraderie.
