Hi YMers!

I hope everyone enjoyed Thanksgiving!  I did.

I wanted to inform you of a few things.  First, tomorrow's Monday Night Hike
is cancelled since they call for 100% of rain and with the cold....we don't
want to show up as I'm sure you won't!  Thus, Kristen & I wimped out, er, I
mean we decided to keep everyone safe and call it off.

Second, this coming Thursday....when everyone is finally sick of turkey and
all the fixin's and when YMers are starting to think of winter with the
glimpse of flurries.....YM winter leaders are offering a crash course in
guidance of what's needed in winter gear.  Tips on what to skimp on, where
to splurge, as well as general tips on winter hiking will be shared.  Please
come with any questions related to gear & winter hiking (or general outdoor
activities in winter).  Pizza & gear can be helpful for seasoned winter
hikers, seasoned 3-season hikers interested in winter activities, and those
new to hiking.  Oh, and bring appetites as pizza will be provided.  It is
BYO-beverage or bring drinks to share.

Registrations must be in by Tuesday out of respect for the leaders and

Third, the next YM planning meeting will be 12/5/07.  Those interested in
getting some coleading experience in the winter season is especially welcome
as seasoned winter hiking leaders would like to start getting more leaders
on board!  Anyone interested in coleading should be familiar with the active
YMers, an active AMC member, have a commitment to being responsible, and
want to share the outdoors with others.  Agenda will follow.  Please send
any topics to me by hitting reply.

Finally, our annual YM holiday party is on Friday 12/7/07.  Please make note
to RSVP and get your gift!  I already have mine ready to go!  Can't wait!
Should be a great time!
