Hi Ymers,

Although MLS is available to non-leaders, the scholarships are only
available to leaders.  I did want to extend this invite/info to all members
in case some non-leaders are psyched and willing to pay.  It's an awesome
experience, so I've been told by those who have gone.  Think about it and
let me know.  Leaders who want to go for the scholarship should really get
moving on this because it'll be gone quick!

 Be sure to get the message out to your Hiking, Backpacking, Excursions,
Outings, YM, Leadership and Education Committee members that they and other
chapter leaders and prospective leaders have an opportunity to take their
training to the next level by registering for AMC's 50th Annual Mountain
Leadership School .*  A $150 scholarship is available to each chapter and
I've attached the application.  *It is up to each chapter as to how they
want to award the scholarship.  It can be awarded to one individual or
divided among two or more.

The 2008 MLS Dates are:

MLS Only:
June 11-15
August 13-17

MLS and Wilderness First Aid:
June 9-15
August 11-17
